It’s that time of the year again.
The leaves are falling off the trees, your instagram feed is tinted with orange and the pumpkins are spiced. Happy blogtober guys!
If you’re not familiar with blogtober, it’s basically the season where bloggers come together to post every day during the month of October. Usually, it’s a festive thing and it’s normal to post things about Autumn, October, cosiness and halloween. However, I’ve always liked to do things differently and if you were reading my blog last year, you’d know that I created something called Anti-Blogtober.
It’s nothing to be offended about, I’m not attacking the usual blogs of blogtober, I have just always felt there’s something important about posting daily blogs and thus, I added my own, PC, left wing, millennial spin to it (or whatever you want to call it.)
For the month of blogtober, myself and some of the friends I’ve gained on my blog throughout the last year will be sharing our insecurities. We will be open, completely stripping ourselves down to have important discussions about the topics we are passionate about. For this month, we’ll be in pretty vulnerable states but it’s for the importance of reaching out to people and saying that that’s okay.
Conversation is important. Safe and open discussions are important and I’m hoping my blog will be a safe place for these discussions for the month to come. The topics we are raising will be opening a point of discussion and I urge you to share your input. Afterall, a conversation is between more than one person and I’m interested in hearing a range of opinions. I hope you’re as excited as I am.
If you’re new to my blog, then below are some links to a few of my favourite blogs from my last Anti-Blogtober. Hopefully it’ll give you a little taste of the things I write and maybe inspire you to consider writing something similar this month. I will be posting every day at 5pm (GMT), so I hope you see you back here soon.
I wish you all a happy blogtober.
P.S – Last year, I didn’t complete the month. I lasted 11 days. Now that I’ve graduated and I don’t have university deadlines to worry about, I’m really hoping I actually last the whole month. Let’s see… (feel free to write in the comments how long you think I’ll last, haha!)
